Cancer
I joined a drug trial that happen to be looking for volunteers. I joined the trial for several reasons, one of which has us meeting with my team of doctors every 3 weeks. All costs not covered by insurance, the pharma company pays.
In a nutshell, There is the standard treatment and two experimental treatments. I was selected to be in the group receiving both experimental and the standard treatment. The trial also tests interactions between the treatments.
Every morning I started taking two red pill and two blue pills (experimental treatments) and every 6 week I get the standard treatment.
July 2023 :: I join the trail, I start the medicine. NOTE: Trials start with the MAXIMUM dose of both pills. As problems arise, doses are adjusted. Spent the first year reducing medication amounts.
August 2023 :: Sent home the first day of school (no students) for being under the influence. Sevier brain fog, weakness, and dizziness. Missed first week of school.
Aug. - Dec. 2023 :: Completed the semester.
Jan 2023 :: Officially retired.
May 2023 end of school year.
Aug. 2023 - Dec. 2023 :: Completely taken off the red pill, only taking the blue pill. Neo took the red pill, perhaps I should have.(Matrix)
Jan 2024-May 2024
Aug. 2024 - Dec. 2024
Jan 2025 - May 2024
:: Started shots that boost red blood cells and increase the levels that are causing the weakness and fatigue. It works but is not part of the standard treatment, good thing they are paying for the denied treatment for insurance. Certainly a quality of life increaser. DON'T take the shot in the arm!!
The four cancer spots in the pancreas has shrunk to where you can't see it on scans. The meds have many side effects. Diarrhea for the first year. Dizziness, Weakness and Fatigue will always be with me.
